The Bali myna, also known as the Bali starling, is a strikingly beautiful bird native to Bali, Indonesia. These birds are critically endangered due to habitat loss, illegal pet trade, and poaching.

Habitat loss often results from deforestation and illegal logging in their native habitat. This destruction deprives the birds of their nesting sites and food sources, making it increasingly difficult for them to survive.

Additionally, the illegal pet trade poses a significant threat, as these birds are highly sought after in the international market. Trapping for the pet trade not only depletes their population but also disrupts their social structure.

To protect the Bali myna, it is crucial to address these root causes by combating habitat destruction and cracking down on illegal pet trade networks.
