This piece is inspired by the Polar bear.
Polar bears are majestic creatures uniquely adapted to their Arctic habitat, relying on sea ice as a platform for hunting seals, their primary prey. However, the accelerating effects of climate change pose a severe threat to their existence.
The ongoing reduction of sea ice due to rising temperatures limits the bears' access to food, forcing them to travel longer distances and expend more energy in search of prey. Melting ice also diminishes suitable denning sites, impacting reproduction. Additionally, pollutants and oil exploration in the Arctic further jeopardize their well-being. As a result, polar bears are listed as a vulnerable species, their survival intricately linked to global efforts to mitigate climate change and preserve their delicate icy ecosystem.
